When you begin to read about the trials and tribulations of the gods, I find it interesting how they relate to the many trials and tribulations that we encounter every day. You can't predict the future, but in Greek mythology you see that each myth has a parallel in real life.My personal favorite among the many myths is the tale of Athena and the hero of the Trojan War. Here in this myth you learn about the trials and tribulations of a female warrior.When you begin to research the ancient Greek mythology, you realize that its central theme is the separation of the Divine from the human world. The stories of these men, and the battles that they are in every day, remind us that we are all in this world together. No matter what we decide to do, we are always in the world.Myths like these show us how close we are to the gods, but how they aren't part of our everyday existence. They have to be meted out justice. They tea ch us that when something happens in the world, there is always a logical reason for it. If we take away the myths of the past and begin to understand them as it relates to the world today, we can better understand why we are as we are today.
